At MGY Estate Agents and Chartered Surveyors, we have been a forerunner in the Cardiff property industry for more than 30 years. One of the reasons for our success is that we keep our business fresh by being open to new ways of thinking. We develop dynamic staff members, see our business through their eyes and reward their hard work. This approach strengthens our position as one of Cardiff’s leading agents and has led to some recent changes across two of our three offices.
With immediate effect Stephanie Evans will be heading up the Heath office team as a Sales Manager; it will be her explicit mandate to drive the office from strength to strength. Despite her young age, Stephanie has enjoyed a long history with MGY, since starting in a one-day-a-week admin role in 2003, Stephanie cut her sales negotiating teeth with the agency, gaining invaluable experience at both the Heath and Cardiff Bay offices as she rose through the ranks.
Stephanie’s passion for property, loyal commitment to her clients and dedication to the agency led to her being promoted to Sales Manager of MGY Cardiff Bay in 2010. With an eye on excellence, Stephanie and her team developed the business into the success that it is today, “Because of our commitment to good service, we have a fantastic reputation around South Cardiff and the Bay. We enjoy a consistent stream of referrals, which inevitably lead to new and repeat business”.
Having achieved so much in terms of managing the MGY Bay office, Stephanie is ready for a new challenge and regards the move to managing the MGY Heath office with relish, “The Heath offers a new set of challenges. I intend applying the knowledge and experience I gained in the Bay to ensure the Heath office is both equally as well known and equally as sought after; securing our position as the agent of choice in the Heath area”.
While Stephanie moves on to pastures new within MGY, Oliver Karamouzis will be filling her shoes as Cardiff Bay Residential Sales Manager. As a previous member of staff who has chosen to return to the agency, Oliver is no stranger to the property business, nor to MGY. After taking a one year foray into Wealth Management, Oliver recognised that the social interactions and diverse challenges of the property industry were lacking and has returned to take up the mantle of driving the Bay office onto bigger and better things.
Originally employed as Sales Negotiator, it was Oliver’s hard work, under Stephanie’s direction, that contributed to the overall success of the Bay office. In a move he describes as ‘coming home’, his decision to return to MGY was as much for career advancement as it was for job satisfaction, “I love the negotiation process and the social aspects of the role: interacting with clients and finding them their dream home. Making people happy, whether they are vendors or purchasers – is a real buzz”.
The final strategic move completing the office shake up, is the appointment of Becky Thompson as Sales Negotiator in the Cardiff Bay office. Becky has a strong customer service background and, having worked for both private and public organisations, she is well versed in client liaison and going the extra mile.
With an eye for the aesthetic and a passion for interior design, Becky brings fresh creative thinking to the role, which will benefit us and our clients alike. Becky will be supporting Oliver to maintain MGY’s position as one of the leading agents in Cardiff.
It is by finding and cultivating experienced staff who thrive on the challenges inherent in the property industry, by being people-focused and sharing practical knowledge, that gives us the edge over the nearest of its competitors. Stephanie Evans summarises, “The property industry is unlike others; while being professional, it is (more importantly) personal. At MGY we never lose sight of that and we strive to put people first in everything we do.
